Operation Christmas Child

by Evelyn and Hannah

This past Christmas, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grades sent thirteen boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We were able to track the boxes and recently found out that some boxes went to the Philippines and the Ukraine. We got a letter back saying thank you and that our boxes were appreciated. Cape Charles Baptist Church also helped by paying for the postage of the boxes filled by the lower grades. The CCCS Captains should be very proud of themselves! Go Captains!

Chapel

“Do your best to improve your faith, you can do this by adding goodness, knowledge, self control, patience, devotion to god, concern for others, and love. 2 Peter 1:5-7”says all students. This is our chapel memory verse for this year. Chapel is held on every Tuesday from 8:30- 9:15. We have chapel with Mrs. Jenn Philpot. Each month we take one word out of the bible verse and talk about it. We have talked about goodness and this month is knowledge. We have had different speakers from different pastors to community members. We have a great time singing and dancing and having fun before the day of school. We would like to thank Mrs. Jenn for doing this for us. She has taught us many things and she is so nice. Recently, she gave everyone a challenge to figure out a tune that our bible verse would go with easily. The K-1 cluster came up with the tune "Deck the Halls" and the upper grades put the verse to the tune of the "Sponge Bob" theme song.
